Johannes "Jan" Pootman
The button below opens the document that describes Johannes Pootman & Cornelia Bradt, and his life. Johannes was born about 1644 in Aalburg, I understand, and came to America by way of an ocean ship in which he was reportedly a "Ship's Cabin Boy".
The first record that we have of Johannes in America was his apprenticeship in Albany in 1661.
About 1664, he removed to Schenectady where he married Cornelia Bradt.
